Early summer sees a tourism boom in Dongqing Town, Cangxi County, where a tiny crayfish is making a big difference. By combining rice-farming with crayfish habitats, the town has turned fishing for fun into a holiday economy driver, breathing new life into rural cultural tourism.

The Junrong Family Farm has introduced an immersive "fish on-site + cook instantly" experience that's drawing families and young travelers. Visitors enjoy the simple pleasure of angling along the rice paddies, surrounded by laughter and countryside charm. Two on-site cooking stations serve up garlic, spicy, and steamed crayfish — delivering a true "pond-to-plate" journey. Local specialty agricultural products, known as the "Five Delicacies," further enrich the food experience.

Beyond crayfish, Dongqing Town has linked high-quality cultural and natural attractions — including the blooming Bletilla flower fields and the historic Xunle Shuyan rock carvings — into well-designed one- and two-day rural tours.
