Outer Layer

Choose wind-resistant clothes, such as a down or cotton-padded jacket, a cashmere coat, or a hardshell jacket. If you"re commuting on two wheels, add a windproof neck warmer and knee warmers to prevent cold air from seeping through gaps.

Mid Layer

Choose clothes that are fluffy and excellent at retaining heat, like a fleece or down jacket, or a cashmere sweater. This layer should be slightly loose to trap more air, as air is the best insulation. A layer too tight will compress the air and reduce warmth.

Base Layer 

Select snug-fitting, moisture-wicking and breathable clothes, such as thermal underwear, a quick-dry shirt, or yoga wear. This layer helps quickly wick away moisture, preventing dampness from building up inside your clothes, which can affect the fluffiness of the outer layers and diminish their insulation capabilities.
