How can a beautiful countryside evolve from a few scenic spots into a destination-wide attraction? The town of Huangmaoya in Cangxi County, Sichuan Province, offers a compelling answer.

Right now, the town is celebrating a bumper harvest of white-fleshed loquats. Walk into the standardized plantation, and you’ll see golden fruits weighing down the branches, their sweet fragrance filling the air. During picking season, the loquat orchards draw crowds of visitors eager to explore and snap photos.

Today, the town boasts over 1,500 mu (roughly 100 hectares) of white-fleshed loquat plantations, producing 200 tons of fresh fruit annually and generating more than 12 million yuan in comprehensive revenue. As the largest white-fleshed loquat base in Sichuan Province, it has been recognized as a three-star agricultural park at the provincial level, creating jobs for 375 local residents. The once-humble loquat has truly become a “golden fruit” that lifts people out of poverty and boosts their incomes.

But there was a challenge: visitors used to leave right after picking, leaving little economic benefit behind. To tackle this, Huangmaoya has doubled down on developing distinctive homestay accommodations. Take “Panlong Xudu” in Panlongzhai Village—it blends rural charm with modern comforts. During peak tourist season in July and August, rooms are fully booked, and the homestay welcomes over 10,000 visitors a year.

Driven by the homestay boom, rural tourism in the area has kept rising. To further enhance hospitality capacity and service quality, the town has invested over 40 million yuan in building the Taohuawu Tourism Hotel, slated to open in mid-August this year. Once operational, it will significantly upgrade the town’s tourism infrastructure and fill gaps in cultural and hospitality services.

In recent years, Huangmaoya has pushed forward with its “Beautiful Countryside” initiative, developing homestays and public squares with red culture themes, while continuously improving the livability of the local environment. The town has now been recognized as a Tianfu Tourism Brand Town and an Eco-Tourism Demonstration Zone in Sichuan Province. A local resident remarked, “I never dreamed my hometown could become a tourist attraction. Now the village is beautiful, and our lives are full of promise.”

From a single white-fleshed loquat to a full-fledged industrial chain, and from an orchard to a panoramic tourist destination, Huangmaoya has turned its ecological advantages into development momentum through specialty agriculture. It stands as a vivid example of Cangxi County’s commitment to deepening the integration of agriculture and tourism while building a more beautiful countryside.

美丽乡村建设如何从“一处美”迈向“全域美”？四川省苍溪县黄猫垭镇交出了一份亮眼答卷。

眼下，黄猫垭镇的白肉枇杷喜迎丰收，走进白肉枇杷标准化种植基地，金黄果实缀满枝头，果香扑面而来。每到采摘时节，漫山枇杷林便成为游客打卡游玩的热门地。

目前，全镇白肉枇杷种植面积已突破1500亩，年产鲜果200吨，综合产值超过1200万元。作为四川省规模最大的白肉枇杷种植基地，这里还获评全省三星级农业园区，带动就业375人，小小枇杷已然成为群众增收致富的“金果果”。

以往游客采摘结束便匆匆离去，客源留不住，是当地农文旅融合发展的突出短板。为此，黄猫垭镇大力发展特色民宿产业。镇内蟠龙寨村的“蟠龙须度”民宿融合乡土韵味与现代居住体验，每年七八月份旅游旺季一房难求，全年接待游客超万人次。

依托民宿产业带动，当地乡村旅游热度不断攀升。为进一步提升接待能力与服务水平，镇上投资4000余万元打造桃花坞旅游酒店，项目预计今年8月中旬投运。该酒店落成后，将全面升级乡村旅游配套，补齐文旅服务短板。

近年来，黄猫垭镇大力推进美丽乡村建设，打造以红色文化为元素的民宿、广场等，宜居环境持续美化。如今，黄猫垭镇已成功创建为四川省天府旅游名镇、四川省生态旅游示范区。当地居民感慨：“以前做梦都没想到，自己的家乡还能变成旅游景区。现在村子美了，大家的日子也更有奔头了。”

从一颗白肉枇杷延伸出完整产业链，从一片果园蝶变为全域景区，黄猫垭镇依托特色产业将生态优势转化为发展动能，也是苍溪县深耕农旅融合、建设美丽乡村的生动实践。（刘敏 王韬）
